How to tell if someone knows about Cricket!!!
There is something about cricket which I understand but I don't think others do!!!! It is quite similar to baseball. And I keep telling everyone about this :)
And here is one of the funniest things that happened to me. I started explaining an Indian the similarities between the two games so that he could understand cricket. Funny hmm.. but I don't think it was intended.
His name is Achar Suraj. He looks and talks like an American and I can bet if you did not know his name you couldn't tell otherwise. And he is my doctor.
Can you actually tell the country of a person by his name. I can't and I don't want to. I actually thought that Achar Suraj was an American whose parents got inspired by India and gave their son an Indian name :) .
So Mr Achar Suraj asked me about the games I played and I told him Cricket and all of a sudden I had the urge to explain to him that indeed cricket was a game played in my home and was similar to baseball!!!!!
And there he was telling me that he knew everything about cricket.
My wife and my friends have been laughing about this since that day.....
So was I wrong in assuming that he was from the blessed land of USA (GOD always blesses America)? Was I wrong in assuming that my country inspired someone and they took an Indian name?
Let me know.....
